1st Wine / Tea Sipping Session - June 30, 2007, Saturday

Venue: Kota Damansara, PJ, Malaysia

Dear All,

A summary of what happened last night at our 1st official wine/tea sipping session. It was a good catch-up. Attended by Suresh, Jeffery and wife Shook Lin, Jason (our honourary member of the wine sipping club) and Charles (whom actually forgotten but luckily his hse was so near that he could just pop by in his PJs). My hubby invited one of his secondary school classmates (to keep him company) as they are wine lover too - SP and his wife Florence. (by the way, Flo is French for those who did not manage to ask her).

Thanks Jason for the "mien kum" from Bangkok, Suresh for the cheese and crackers from Cold Storage, Jeff (altho the other did not get a chance to eat it, thanks for the Japanese Mua Chee from HK). We had Hokkien mee, cheese cake (yummy!!), peanuts (tom yum and coffee flavoured), fried tempura mushrooms (btw, they were organic and sorry that the tempura flour did not turn out too well, as I added too much water) for supper.

In addition to the wine, we also had some "poh leh" tea to wash down the oil from the Hokkien Mee (no fancy tea ceremony since we did not have the official tea maker - Thum CK around. He apparently had to go fishing early Sunday morning and could not afford the alcohol and late night).

Not sure why, but most probably due to age, most people left by about 12.30am. Guess, it was good get-together anyhow.
Anyhow, my hubby's friend (SP and wife, Florence) stayed on and chatted till about 3am. After we cleared the dishes and washed up and we got to bed only at about 4.30am. So you can imagine my hang-over the next day.

Our next session will probably be held at Jason's hse in about 3 months time. Will notify everyone of the date (as soon as I have discussed with Jason). Will plan ahead and give everyone proper notice to hope for better turn-out the next round.

Mentioned in my email that I will set up a blog and here it is. No photos this time around as we did not take any during the session. However, I will take photos of some of the wine which we consumed that night. Next time we will have photos of these gathering. (to show to our kids and grandkids next time). Will need to appoint an official photographer for each session. Anyone with good camera or camera phone will qualify.

That's all for the update and have a good nite and great week ahead to all.
